This handcrafted hair pin is made from Apple wood. It has a gnarled, honey coloured grain with dark knots and a clear end grain with bark at the top.

 

Apple trees are best known for their amazing fruits. They have played an important role in Asian and European cultures for thousands of years. for both practical and magical uses.

This piece of Apple is from a beautiful old tree in Wiltshire that I have had the pleasure to look after for many years.

This pin is finished with natural herb and resin oil and Nutshell wax. The products are eco friendly and non toxic, blending selected beeswax, Larch oil and essential oils to give your hair pin years of protection. It also uses no VOC's, formaldehyde or petrochemicals.

We are always striving to improve our processes environmentally. Hand tools are used over power tools where possible and sanding etc. is kept to a minimum.
