This handcrafted hair fork is made from particularly dark coloured Pyracantha heart wood or Fire Thorn. It is very smooth and strong and features fine knots and grain running down the piece with a natural bark edge at the top. The twists and turns make it a very stable fork to 'lock' into your hair.

Pyracantha will be very familiar to gardeners here in the UK. They grow well here and are very thorny. Their berries are a much needed food source for birds during the winter months and provide shelter for nesting. This piece has been made from old wood gathered from a local gardening project. It is a new favourite to work with and I am always excited to find what lies beneath the gnarled bark of this amazing wood.
